Datalink Electronics, located in Loughborough, Leicestershire, has been at the forefront of electronic product design and manufacturing for over a decade. With a strong emphasis on high-technology product development and low-to-medium volume manufacturing, we have earned a reputation for delivering quality and cutting-edge solutions to a wide range of industries, including medical devices, rail, oil & gas, and scientific instrumentation.
Our journey of growth and innovation has been guided by a relentless pursuit of excellence. We pride ourselves on our ability to turn state-of-the-art technology and research into commercial products. Our comprehensive service offering, which includes feasibility studies, design, development, prototyping, certification support, and full-scale production, allows us to meet the unique needs of our diverse clientele.
The past year has been nothing short of extraordinary for Datalink Electronics. Not only have we been named finalists for the Business Growth and Strategy award at the Make UK Manufacturing Awards, but we have also achieved remarkable growth milestones.
In the financial year 2021/2022, we recorded a substantial 24% increase in sales, reaching £4.9 million, and these achievements only continued to surge in 2022/2023, with a further 32% increase in sales to reach £6.4 million. Which saw a 30% increase to reach £1.5 million in the last year.
One of the major drivers behind our growth is our significant presence in the medical sector. Since obtaining ISO 13485 certification, Datalink Electronics has seen an upward trajectory in the number of healthcare and medical device companies availing our services. In fact, this customer group now represents approximately 50% of our annual turnover, marking a significant increase from the previous year.
This achievement can be attributed, in part, to a substantial £750,000 investment in a state-of-the-art assembly line. This cutting-edge equipment has not only revolutionised our production process but also enabled us to handle high-speed, high-frequency applications that can withstand harsh environments.
Looking ahead, Datalink Electronics aims to further elevate its position in the industry. Our primary objective for the next three years is to increase our turnover by an ambitious 40%. We plan to diversify our presence into new market sectors, including Aerospace and Defence, and the environmental industry.
What sets us apart is our ability to offer comprehensive solutions, from design input to build-to-print requirements. We’re dedicated to delivering world-class manufacturing services while leveraging the latest technological advancements and processing power in smaller packages.
These remarkable achievements would not have been possible without the dedication of our dynamic team. Over the past year, we have made significant changes in our management team, welcoming a new Managing Director, Design Manager, and Business Development Manager. We have also established a new Engineering department, recruiting four talented Engineers to drive innovation and growth.
