
Rachael Clarke: A Journey in Sales and Commercial Supervision
In the heart of Leicestershire, a career in business and a zest for personal growth are attributes that have come to define me, Rachael Clarke. A path marked by determination, continuous learning, and a firm belief in the value of relationships has been at the core of my professional journey.
My journey began with a foundation in Business Management, which I continue to enhance with a Business Management Degree from the Open University. As an AAT Accountancy Level 3 graduate, my academic pursuits reflect my commitment to professional development.
During my educational journey, I was tested and challenged. The journey of learning and gaining qualifications taught me discipline and prepared me for the competitive world of business. It instilled a strong work ethic and nurtured my desire to excel in a professional environment.
I embarked on my career at Datalink Electronics in 2012 as an Admin Assistant, contributing to the day-to-day financial operations. However, my role evolved, leading me towards the dynamic world of sales. A vital turning point was when I transitioned into the Sales department, a move that allowed me to embrace new challenges and seize opportunities. I became a permanent member of the Sales team, eventually assuming greater responsibilities.
My journey in sales at Datalink Electronics has been marked by significant milestones. With dedication and diligence, I took on expanded roles when my manager began working remotely during the pandemic. I found myself gradually taking on her responsibilities, including monthly sales reporting and customer meetings.
Throughout my journey, my passion for building relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues has been a driving force. An amicable and accessible demeanour. has allowed me to engage with people from all walks of life. I’ve come to realise that forming these connections is a cornerstone of my career.
In April 2023, my journey led me to the role of Commercial Supervisor at Datalink Electronics. The department’s merger of Sales and Purchasing presented an opportunity for me to embrace this new role. As Commercial Supervisor, I am committed to the day-to-day operation of the department, focusing on the purchasing function.
My responsibilities include monitoring material overdues to ensure seamless production, facilitating customer visits, meeting potential clients, and playing a pivotal role in employee training. I liaise closely with the Production Manager to maintain customer satisfaction by addressing any manufacturing issues. While my role has expanded, I remain dedicated to my sales tasks.
My journey has been a voyage of self-discovery, growth, and development. As I look towards the future, I’m excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. The world of business is dynamic and ever-changing, and I’m eager to take on new challenges, build more relationships, and continue learning.
